Beginning at the start of 2021, Ian Briggs and Grant Larson, as Group Lead and Group Coordinator respectively, have been collaborating with others across Australia to create a group dedicated to furthering research into BIM (Building Information Modelling) nationally.

The aim of the NPC Design Tech Advisory Group is to act as a forum and conduit to present relevant current and future technologies and consider their impact on the architectural profession.

Since forming a few months ago, the group has collaborated with other BIM interest groups to assist the AIA on their NBS BIM Report and started work on a comprehensive BIM policy document which will eventually act as an informative go-to guide for the industry.

Watch this space for more updates from the NPC Design Tech Advisory Group as they work to create a more informative framework for BIM across the country.

Join us on our journey over the next 12 months as we investigate current and future design technology trends, including AI driven options such as Augmented Reality, Iterative/Generative Design software, and cloud-based collaborative 3D models, and explore how our industry can use these to our business advantage.
