Taking the form of townhouses and apartments and located on a generous 4800 sqm site, Superlot 11 consists of 106 apartments and 16 townhouses centred on communal gardens and offering a plethora of community amenities. Mindful of the scale of the locale, Plus anchored the development by creating a stepped effect for the apartments with the tallest of the apartment buildings located on the corner of Worchester Street being the most prominent.

Plus were conscious of the selection of materials used, particularly given the history of Christchurch. Materials such as brick anchor the buildings to the site while lighter materials feature above the brick podiums. The architects wished to create a feeling of ‘home’ – incorporating a playful rhythm of windows and balconies. By the same token, Plus introduced a dynamic variation in the colours and composition of each tower, giving each its own unique identity – while still remaining part of a concise, welcoming community of homes.

Designed with safety and security in mind, Superlot 11 will be built with rigorous attention to earthquake safety standards – and indeed this focus bleeds through into the design, presenting buildings of expressed strength.
