Exemplary, flora-inspired student accommodation in Brisbane's burgeoning student precinct.
Scape Tribune is set to be an architecturally iconic student accommodation development located at 41-47 Tribune Street in Brisbane's CBD. As an alternative option for future students wanting to live off-campus, Scape Tribune is poised to breathe new life into the existing student precinct at the corner of Colchester and Tribune Streets.
One of the driving goals for Scape’s accommodation offerings is to create a nurturing environment for students. To facilitate this, the design incorporates a range of both indoor and outdoor communal spaces that allow students to get out of their rooms, come together and socialise. The landscaped roof terraces include a moonlight cinema along with space for yoga and Pilates classes.
Presenting as two distinct towers, the 18-storey building comprises over 500 bedrooms, various group and individual-focused study spaces, and a basement level with internal and external communal areas. An extensive rooftop terrace tops the development, offering unimpeded views across Brisbane's South Bank, outdoor amenities and a place for future students to meet and socialise. Meanwhile, laneway-level retail spaces geared toward student residences connect the locale's existing Scape Laneway to the Educational Pathway across Tribune Street.
Architecturally, Scape Tribune's design channels the beauty of the site's magnificent fig tree. The podium offers a root-like element to activate the development's street front and draw in pedestrians, and the primary tower takes the form of branches stretching skyward. Scape Tribune maintains organic qualities via curved language and lush, generous landscaping, celebrating the existing flora while integrating its built form with the horizontal expression of the neighbouring Scape South Bank.
