Design alliance brings renewed retirement living precinct to Brighton East
Brighton East, with its tree-lined streets and bayside charm, now welcomes a renewed Levande Oak Grange – a retirement community where independence and connection coexist. Our role as executive architects and lead interior designers brought us into a creative partnership with design architects Bates Smart and client Levande Living.
The six buildings house 200+ independent living apartments, each structure distinct yet part of a cohesive whole. We embraced the neighbourhood's character through a sophisticated masonry palette while introducing contemporary elements that speak to modern living.
Beyond the apartments, Levande Oak Grange offers practical and inviting common spaces. The clubhouse functions as a community hub, while basement parking adds security and convenience. Strategic placement of wayfinding elements, lighting, and seating ensures residents navigate the space with ease.
Our interior work focused on maximising natural light and spatial efficiency in every apartment. We selected materials and finishes that balance aesthetic appeal with practicality – creating homes that feel both fresh and timeless.
Between buildings, landscaped gardens offer residents places to gather or find moments of privacy. This connection to nature stands alongside the technical aspects of accessibility and efficiency that inform the entire development.
