Vibrant mixed-use development envisioned for Sydney’s western suburbs.

Plus Architecture participated in a Design Excellence Competition for 2 Fitzwilliam Street in Parramatta. This unique site which will be developed by Urban Property Group and will provide a true mixed-use outcome with commercial office tower and a built to rent tower sitting side by side over a commercial and retail base.

The site will act as a gateway toward the southern part of Parramatta connecting it to the train station and Parramatta Square. Our proposal created a unique proposition for this site with two buildings that balanced each other through materiality and textural quality while being specific in their character. The through site link created in the middle of the podium is perceived as urban transition area which engages with the lobbies of both the built to rent and commercial office building.

The urban cutaway brings people and the public domain through the heart of the site. The overall concept is driven by principles of connecting to country and a focus on human scale and engagement with community creating a vibrant urban addition to Parramatta and its evolving character.
