In a bold initiative, the University of Canterbury's Dovedale campus is evolving into the Digital Screen Campus (DSC), a groundbreaking project set to redefine the future of creative media and entertainment industries. Through strategic partnerships and immersive learning experiences, the DSC aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders in film production, game development, and cross-reality technologies.
Matthew Charles, Director at Plus Architecture, played a pivotal role as Design Manager, infusing the project with invaluable local knowledge and expertise while leading phase one of the project.
Once completed, the DSC will boast full-service, commercial-standard production facilities, attracting local and international projects while expanding the University's teaching and research capabilities in Digital Screen Production.
This transformative initiative not only elevates Aotearoa New Zealand's creative landscape but also positions the University of Canterbury at the forefront of educational excellence in the digital era.
