International architecture practice Plus Architecture has announced twelve promotions and appointments across the country, recognising and retaining the exceptional talent within its studios and creating new opportunities to nurture the next generation of design innovators.
Of the twelve appointments, three are new hires, whilst the rest are internal promotions — which Plus Architecture Director Ian Briggs, says is part of the studio’s strategy to support staff to develop and take on new responsibilities.
“Promoting internally not only recognises the incredible work our designers are doing, reinforcing their abilities and building their confidence but it in turn encourages them to support and mentor the wider team. The next generation of designers, we’re excited to be opening up and leading new avenues for collaboration and innovation in the built environment.”
With studios across Australia and New Zealand, the latest round of promotions and appointments bolsters Plus Architecture’s position as industry-leading experts in master planning and city making, multi-residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, as the practice looks to develop its work in the transport, infrastructure, health and wellness sectors across the Asia-Pacific.
Sydney
In Sydney, Mark Ojascastro has been appointed to Principal. With a proven pedigree in design, this appointment tasks Mark, who recently joined the studio, with growing and leading the studio’s interiors offering. His remarkable career spans Australia and Canada, garnering national and state awards in both countries. Mark is currently leading the interior design for Mastery in Waterloo — a collection of five exceptional buildings within a former industrial precinct, now transforming into a vibrant culinary and cultural destination.
Promoted to Associate in Sydney are Gloria Ha, Sun-Kyoo Kim, and Hong-Thanh Nguyen. With a strong design vision and demonstrated leadership skills, Gloria will be at the helm of projects in the residential student accommodation sectors. An all-rounder, Sun-Kyoo’s holistic approach to creating exceptional design solutions for clients will see him continue to develop his expertise in the community and civic sectors; whilst Hong-Thanh’s collaborative approach and problems-solving skills will see her grow her project design and management acumen across sectors spanning boutique residential projects to master-planning mixed-use precincts.
