All roads lead to Baia: How green links and connectivity to transport set this Rhodes development apart.

Our competition-winning design for a significant Rhodes Peninsula site was born out of a vision to create a community where world-class modern convenience and a strong connection to Country were the foundations of design.

Occupying a prime site on Sydney’s Rhodes Peninsula, the mixed-use precinct will house 277 apartments, a childcare facility and retail amenities. Making the most of the development’s enviable locale, we've ensured convenient access from all corners of the site to the Rhodes Train Station, parklands and waterways.

Through consultation with our Indigenous design partner, Greenaway Architects, we have referenced Water, Ground, and Sky Country in our design response, resulting in a tower that embodies a sensitive representation of its cultural heritage.

The podium design features a horizontal, layered expression to mimic eroded Hawkesbury sandstone, while the rising tower is articulated as separated 'community blocks', stacked vertically with delineating bands, which also aid in reducing the visual mass and modulating the form.

We've also incorporated native flora and fauna which reflects the natural landscape. Our scheme embraces the beauty of the Rhodes Peninsula topography, resulting in a design that seamlessly integrates and positively contributes to the public realm and streetscape.
