A vibrant senior living and aged care community, servicing Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Region.

Plus Architecture is partnering with Uniting in this vision, currently supporting their commitment to ongoing engagement with community members to refine the concept master plan and meet the modern-day needs of their Charlestown community in Lake Macquarie.

This redevelopment is set to provide quality, person-centred aged care and community services, that respond to the changing needs of older people within the community. Services will promote health, wellbeing and connection in welcoming settings, continuing Uniting’s strong legacy of care and commitment to the Lake Macquarie area.

Plus Architecture Principal Gabriel Duque said the redevelopment is an investment in the long-term future of Charlestown.

”To be transformed over several stages, the proposed design by Plus Architecture includes three residential towers with a mix of apartments and independent living units, co-located with a Residential Aged Care facility and community support services and facilities, he said.”

The redevelopment offers 220 independent living units and 130 residential apartments, as well as assisted living options to help residents with daily chores in their own apartments. The residential aged care home will include approximately 120 beds and dementia-specific support.

Extensive amenities for the exclusive use of residents are provided within the project scope, including a club house, swimming pool, ladies fellowship, men’s shed space and chapel/multi faith space.

The redevelopment will also feature visiting rooms for GPs, allied health practitioners and a wellness centre.
