The project site for the New Heart of Ryde development is located adjacent to Ryde City Shopping Centre and sits in the heart of the Ryde Community. The project has a strong focus on community uses and benefits and is set to become a dynamic and vibrant place for the community of Ryde, delivering a four-fold increase in community facilities.
Plus Architecture has been engaged to deliver the new Council Offices and a Community Building, surrounded by a generous and dynamic public domain. The site area is approximately 9755 sqm.
The design proposed by Plus Architecture includes a flowing building composition to naturally guide people through the site, creating a layered expression of architectural and landscaped design that reflects the existing typography. The proposed development consists of a well-balanced urban design solution which carefully considered height, bulk and scale within the context.
The dynamic public plaza at the heart of the precinct generates an essential piece of community infrastructure in this prime location. The variety of community uses proposed in dialogue with the council offices will create a unique destination dedicated to the people of Ryde.
