Designed for an elevated life

Plus Architecture is no stranger to elevating the way people live, through our luxuriously-crafted and inspiring homes. It’s something our practice has achieved for more than 25 years across Australia. With this approach, we’ve mastered bespoke townhouse design for the Eloquent Townhouses in Perth.

Situated in this riverside suburb of Applecross where the Swan River (Derbal Yaragan) meets the city, Eloquent Townhouses feature 5 residences aligned with the discerning buyer looking for lifestyle, location and a raw yet refined sense of luxury.

Minutes from the amenities of the city, Eloquent Townhouses are surrounded by nature and a village lifestyle in a suburb full of character, heritage and rich history.

Plus Architecture Director Will Schofield says the Eloquent Townhouses bring a paradigm shift in residential living in Perth, and an alternative to the luxury apartment.

“We placed an emphasis on creating a clarity of design in form, function and a timeless aesthetic,” Schofield says.

Encased by a curated and refined, modern industrial palette with raw accents, the internal arrangement of these four-storey townhouses responds to the demands of modern family life.

Tall floor to ceilings and full-height windows at each level enhance the sense of space and help connect interiors with the quintessential leafy suburb. Each home has excellent access to daylight and cross ventilation with balconies on every level.

Designed for an elevated life, the Eloquent Townhouses have features that set it apart from the local market. What is quite possibly one of the standout features of these townhouses at all levels, is the elevator which will prove to be of invaluable assistance to older owners. Undoubtedly, it will also score points with the younger ones as well. Other features include integrated studio spaces, full scullery with additional appliances, ground floor courtyard and fully equipped rooftop terrace living areas.

The ground floor has a human scale and treatment of dark timber cladding, seamlessly blending garages and emphasising each owner's front door. The upper floors contrast against the natural base, finished in a smooth refined dado cement, to provide a level of permanence and refinement. Dark metalwork accents complete the minimal aesthetic via windows, balustrades, movable screening, and cladding to the top level.

Landscape and architecture are blended at the building edges. Planters soften each balcony's edges, providing breathing edges to the homes, filtering air and views.

Lead Interior Designer for Eloquent Townhouses, Giordana Vizzari says the interiors were inspired by the surrounding natural landscape and the beating heart of Perth, the Swan River.

“Rather than a literal approach to referencing the natural elements, we have refined and re-imagined these in a sleek and contemporary manner. The interior embraces a raw aesthetic, appealing to a discerning buyer who appreciates the raw beauty and texture in nature and its translation to a refined, yet tactile built form,” Vizzari says.

Eloquent Townhouses encapsulates a mix of raw edge and homely warmth with the mixing of polished concrete, solid timber, natural stone and thoughtful lighting. The interiors are textured and tactile, as well as delicately detailed, with an emphasis on strong lines to complement the architectural fabric of the development.

Across the two interior schemes, the layered textures using honest and raw materials selected by Plus Architecture are complemented by curated forms converging to create an interior that is highly considered and curated.

The Windward interior scheme is light and fresh, inspired by the rowing and boating culture in Applecross, while the Tidal interior scheme is dark and moody, with punches of contrast, inspired by the waters of the tidal Swan River.
