Returning railcar manufacturing to Western Australia.

Plus Architecture was appointed by Lead Consultant Aurecon to deliver all architectural detailed design and documentation for Bellevue Depot Stage 2. Plus Architecture also provided drawings and visualisations supporting the Development Application for Stage 2.

Bellevue Depot Stage 2 is a significant rail infrastructure project and supports a major part of the WA State Government’s strategy around train maintenance, complementing the train manufacturing and commissioning facilities that are now complete in Stage 1.

Stage 2 includes major buildings accommodating rail car maintenance for electric B-series trains. This stage also provides capabilities for maintaining electric C-series trains and maintenance facilities for diesel train units located at the western end of the depot.

The Stage 2 masterplan and detailed design provides secondary maintenance buildings including the EMU Internal Cleaning Platform, separate EMU and DMU Wash buildings and the Wheel Lathe and Bogie Drop.

Completion of the constructed depot will provide a positive uplift to local employment, supply chain investment, sustainable land use and contribute to the economic revitalisation of Midland.
