Supporting research for those growing up in today’s digital age.

Designed by Plus, the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child is a state-of-the-art research facility at Curtin University in Bentley, Western Australia.

The Centre integrates child health, education, and digital and social connectedness and supports a team of world-leading researchers investigating children’s digital practices through three research programs. It features flexible and cost-effective spaces that accommodate the different needs of researchers and children. It includes four main areas: reception, office, meeting rooms, and a board room/Children’s ‘Technology Cove’, which is a living lab for naturalistic research.

Featuring interactive artwork, digital screens, and modular ottomans, the reception is an engaging area for children, while the office area has open-plan hot desks, private single offices, and individual pin-up boards. The board and meeting rooms have foldable tables, chairs, and video conferencing capabilities. The boardroom is also a flexible multi-function space, doubling as the Children’s Technology Cove. Sliding acoustic screens separate the area and provide privacy when in use. Other considerations include secure entry, lockable storage, and general office equipment.

The Centre demonstrates a commitment to supporting the digital practices of children in Australia while prioritizing their health, education, and social connectedness.
